Kate Bratt has been on the ballroom dance scene since 1999, when she started dancing after hearing salsa music on the radio. As an amateur for several years, she enjoyed many Star of the Norths, Mall of America demos, USADance Nationals, and NCDA competitions. Kate started teaching and competing professionally in 2001. With her former partner and current partner/husband, Kate has been making finals in competitions around the nation in Smooth or Rhythm for over 10 years. Continually training with the top coaches, Kate loves sharing her knowledge with students of all ages and backgrounds.
Gordon began dancing lindy in college, and after taking a “break” before going to med school, got pulled into a job teaching ballroom and never left. Now one of the premier pro-am dance instructors in the Twin Cities, Gordon teaches newbies to open-level dancers with technical aplomb, humor, and efficiency. Dancing and running Mill City Ballroom with his wife and dance partner, Kate, hanging with his three (soon to be four) kids, playing music with his prominent band, snowboarding, and working on his house keep Gordon out of trouble when he’s not teaching.
